How does the medal ceremony work?
For toddlers:
In group lessons, medals are awarded every Friday with a special visit from Piou-Piou at the snow garden! Parents are invited to join around 20 minutes before the end of the lesson to take photos with their children, Piou-Piou, and the instructors.
For children:
In group lessons, medal tests and the official ceremony take place every Friday. Join us at the meeting point to celebrate with the instructor and receive the medal!
Is wearing a helmet mandatory?
Yes, helmets are mandatory for children and teens, and strongly recommended for adults.
Is the ski pass included in the lesson price?
No, the ski pass is not included and is required to access the lifts. However, you can add it as an option when booking your lessons. For more details, see our dedicated page "Choosing your skipass".
Is insurance included in the lesson price?
No, the esf does not provide insurance for its students. We recommend checking your personal coverage and, if necessary, taking out ski insurance. For more information, please visit our dedicated "Insurance" page.
Is equipment included in the lessons?
No, the equipment specific to your discipline is not included in the lesson price. Please remember to rent it before your session.
Toddlers
Does my child need a ski pass for this lesson?
Children in the Club Piou Piou do not need a lift pass.
Children under 5 benefit from free ski passes! Simply go to the lift ticket office with proof of age to collect it (ticket holder fee applies).
For little ones at the Ourson level: depending on their progress, your child may leave the nursery slope from Tuesday onwards, as decided by the instructor. If a beginner’s pass is needed, you will be informed (free for under 5s).
Children at the Flocon and + level require a Grand Domaine pass from day one (free for under 5s).
Yes! Medal ceremonies take place every Friday at the Snow Garden with Piou-Piou present. Parents are invited about 20 minutes before the end of the lessons to take photos of their children alongside Piou-Piou.
Children
How should I equip my child?
Proper clothing: Dress your child according to the weather with a warm jacket, a hat, gloves, goggles or sunglasses, and don’t forget sunscreen and tissues in their pocket.
Equipment: Your child should come to class with their skis, boots, and helmet (which is mandatory). Ski poles are only needed starting from the preparation for the 2nd étoile level.
Which ski pass should I choose for a beginner child?
For young skiers in group lessons, we offer a special 6-day beginner ski pass at a preferential rate. This pass, designed to support their first steps on the slopes, is only available as an option with the group lesson. For more details, please visit our dedicated page "Choosing your ski pass".
Is the lift pass included in the course price?
No, the lift pass is not included in the course price and is mandatory. It can be added as an option when booking. For more details, please see our dedicated page"Choosing your ski pass".
A few tips:
Flocon and 1ère Étoile levels: a special initiation ski pass at a preferential rate is offered and required.
Other levels: the full Grand Domaine lift pass is necessary.
Which level should I choose for my child?
Enroll your child in the level just above the one they completed during their last ski stay.
Please note:
A child who has never skied should be registered at the beginner level.
A child who has already been in the Club Piou Piou joins directly at the Flocon level.
The Bronze, Silver, and Gold Étoile levels are grouped together within the Team Étoiles.
At the end of the week, instructors will award each child the medal corresponding to the level they achieved.
Groups may be adjusted depending on the number of participants.
Teens - Adults
Is the ski pass included in the course price?
No, the ski pass is not included in the course price and is required to access the ski lifts. However, you can add it as an option when booking your course.
A few tips:
Beginners and Class 1: The weekly Grand Domaine pass is recommended (day passes are more expensive). A special “Adult Initiation” pass at a reduced rate is available from age 13, only when booked together with a ski course.
For other levels: The Grand Domaine pass is required.

Private lessons & Experiences+
Is equipment included in the lessons?
No, the equipment specific to your discipline is not included in the course price. Be sure to rent it before your session.
Exceptions : - For sit-ski courses, Tandem ski and Dual ski equipment are provided. - For Nordic walking, Nordic walking poles are included. - For laser rifle shooting activities, the rifles are provided by esf.
Esf also provides safety equipment (shovel, probe, avalanche transceiver) whenneeded.
Can a private lesson be shared between children and adults?
Since learning methods differ, we recommend not mixing adults and children (under 13) in the same lesson to ensure the best possible progress for everyone.
